I think the battery lasts for 70,000 hours about 7.5 years.

Maintenance is a necessary part of any system. I suspect they do change oil in their squad cars at regular intervals as well.

I suspect no trooper changes their own oil or maintains their own squad car.
Weapon maintenance on the other hand is another matter.
