I guess the real question should be asked of his new DNR manager in Alaska as to what percentage of the time he's going to be nabbing poachers, and what percentage of the time is he going to be mooching around in the alder thickets acting like a potential snack for an Alaskan brown bear. Got a friend with property in Cordoba, and he says most of the locals carry short barreled 12 gauges, but if you're going to spend time in the brush you CANNOT have too much gun, so the Smith 500 kinda wins hands down. And he wants the 4" snubbie and not the 2 3/4" - the velocity degradation with the 2 3/4" is enough to lessen your chances or survival.
