So your suggestion would be?

Well right now I usually just keep the gun between the center console and seat. Its pretty snug and doesnt move around under normal driving conditions but in an instance where an collision occurs it would probably go flying like that fbi shootout back in the 80s.

So right now im working on a rig that is mounted on the dash below the steering column mostly out of view but very easy to get to. I started by cutting up a plastic fobus paddle holster and began making a backing plate. I dont want to drill any holes in the dash and would like to make easily
removable as to not make my vehicle a target to would be theifs.

It seems like a good idea to me. Maybe im wrong?

Cool, now I understand that you are talking specifically about a vehicle mount.
Ever think about a good pocket holster and a massive amount of hook & loop (Velcro)? Buy some good quality hook & loop, attach the fuzzy surface on the pocket holster and the hook portion in the center console, under the dash, the front or side of the seat, etc. With the fuzzy surface on the pocket holster, it can still be used as a pocket holster. But if the need arises to remove this pocket holster from the pocket and use as a quick access vehicle mount, it can be done by mating with the hook material.

Just though I would throw this thought out there.

I want my guns to be where my hands are (mostly) ; i.e., when they're above the table or desk, on the steering wheel, or in a self-defense stance. I use the Massad Ayoob "StressFire", vertical-loading (muzzle down) shoulder holster method (Vol. I, page 49.), bilaterally; i.e., dual shoulder-holstered weapons. Such an arrangement is integral to deploying weapons with the Ayoob "StressFire" punch-shot method (Vol. I, Ch. 8, p. 57) (modified for integration into a Ron Szpond combat style).

Really like the Remora, IWB carry. Very secure. Also like the Galco King Tuk, IWB carry
