Open Carry Picnic, Hudson, Wisc. 1-4 PM October 17th!!

Postby Seismic Sam on Sat Sep 05, 2009 12:24 pm

This one is close enough for a lot of us to make. The one in Glenwood City drew about 380 people. I'll be there for sure.

And FWIW, this is what American Freedom and the 2nd Amendment look like for real:

Image

From Dave "Ole" Olson:

Its official now: it will be a combined event, Open Carry gathering and a Tea Party.

This will be from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Lake Front Park in Hudson Wi. Rain or shine.

We are billing this as an Open Carry Tea Party for the purpose of dispelling the hysteria created by the drive-by media about citizens recently showing up at Town hall meeting armed.

We are of the belief that the Founding Fathers attended the meetings that created this great nation with their muskets in hand.

And, if it was good enough for them it’s good enough for us.

Here is a recap of the Glenwood City Open Carry Picnic:

WOW what can I say, it was a huge success.

We had 385 people sign the guest book, some admittedly didn’t sign it.

This doesn’t include the organizers or staff, so I feel comfortable saying over 400 were in attendance.

Here are a couple of links to the media coverage.

I was SO PROUD of my 7 year old Grandson, he led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The trumpet player who played the National Anthem is the son of friends of ours,

this young man is an Eagle Scout, a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and an Army ROTC Cadet.

I wish the media would make mention of fine young men and women like him, they are the future of our Great Nation

I cannot thank everyone enough, those that helped, and those that help spread the word, it wouldn’t have happened without you.

In the last days just before the picnic, we were concerned by the great responses that we wouldn’t have enough food so we upped the ante and stocked up for close to 600 people.

For those whom attended and were part of the generous donations your donations were shared with the less fortunate.

The extra food we got to cover our last minute “panic” didn’t go to waste; the extra food was distributed to 3 locations, Glenhaven; a local nursing home here in Glenwood City; Impact Recovery, a drug and alcohol recovery facility in Baldwin Wisc., and to Grace Place a battered women’s shelter in Somerset Wisc.

Saturday Oct. 17th from 1:00 to 4:00
This is the follow up event to our Open Carry Picnic last month that brought over 400 like minded folks together.

Please print and distribute the flyer that is referenced below, where ever possible; we need to get the word out.

As mentioned before, our intention on combining the 2 events is to show that they are more connected than separate.

Without the 2nd Amendment the other 26 don’t count. A right not exercised is a right lost!

The mainstream media has gone to great lengths to villainize gun owners as well as other true patriots for exercising their God given rights.

The Founding Fathers brought their muskets to the town hall meetings that created this Great Nation.

In fact for more than the first 150 years our Senators & Representatives carried their firearms with them into the halls of congress.

It hasn’t been but the last 50 or so years that our right have been undermined and outwardly attacked.

I feel that we are at the brink; if we don’t restore the Republic soon, it will be lost for many generations if not forever.

So PLEASE; let’s make this an historic event of monumental proportions. Before it’s too late!

Go to: http://donotinfringe.org to download and print the flyer. There will be updates to the flyer as speakers confirm. Check back often for the updates.

My understanding is: Open carry in WI is legal without a permit...and there is no permit for conceal. Is thst correct?

Sounds great. But, Murtha? I understand he's pro-2A, but really? Overall, he is, to put it kindly, controversial. Personally, I would rather listen to, Bill Russell, his opponent in last year's election. It would also be more in keeping with a spirit of independance for the event by having someone who isn't presently in office. On another note, I sent and email to a guy I met at the Appleseed last weekend and asked him to put a note on his blog and maybe even post some flyers locally. He's from the Peshtigo area, but who knows? Maybe this will strike a cord and they can get a bunch to carpool out for the day.

Thanks for the link. What a bunch of gobbeldygook. I found stuff on conceal, but nothing on "open carry". Is it legal by omission?
