I myself open carry all the time when i am out in my neighbor hood or when i run to the local liqour store i have been going to for years where they know me. There are certain places to open carry and then there are the ones you dont want to.
Menards for example has a policy if the gun can be seen they have to leave if some one complains about it. Several times i have had to ask customers to cover the gun with their shirts or they will have to leave, and after explaining the copmpany policy ( from Wis ) they comply or get pissy and leave. The policy is based on the fact that if some one complains wether it is a customer or employee, it is deemed as creating a hostile enviroment. But i get to carry a gun as i provide a sense of security for the customers and a hostile on for the bad guys

And really if you step back and take a look at it there are a lot more paying customers out there who do not have a permit to carry than those who do so the corporate man is going to listen to the majority and not the minority,
And you may want to contact the company that is providing security at the store as they are a contract service so you can talk to cub all you want about the guards actions, but he is a member of a contract service that cub that has assumed liability for their actions, so cub has no control over what they do. And believe me if it is a company called Lonestar i wish you good luck.
