Bersa Problem ??

Postby Dorothy on Wed Sep 23, 2009 5:58 pm

I have a Bersa Thunder in .380 caliber. I like the gun but in order to hit where I'm aiming I have to keep the dot on the front sight right above the two dots on the rear sight, not in the middle of the two dots on the rear sight. There is not an adjustment for up or down, only right and left. Anyone run across this before or have ideas to fix it. Thank you.

Dorothy, normally the Bersa pistols are setup to hit dead on at 7-10 yards hitting where the front sight is pointed in a normal 3 dot sight picture. Colorado Gunworks http://www.coloradogunworks.com/index.html is the largest Bersa Waranty Center for these firearms. On their main page there is a link labeled "Gunsmith". Here you can post your question and the best Bersa gunsmith there is named Royce will likely be the one that responds. Their servie is fantastic and fast if your Bersa needs work. He will be the best help you can ask for.

Which ammo are you using?

Does it do this with more than one brand?

Sounds like you'll need a different rear sight blade. Easy fix. Just don't lose the spring when you unscrew it.

I have seen this "who was your instructor" in a few different places here. Is there something I should know ? Inside joke--------and I'm on the outside ? Just curious.

Have all possibilities of flinching or trigger finger been covered? Does it do the same when other experienced shooters shoot it?

No offense to anyone's shooting ability or experience, Lord knows I'm no expert.

I hear you.. I am no expert either, but it is a good point.. Bersa 380s are known for FTFs due to limp wristing and such

I see. Well at least you know it isn't the shooter, so you won't feel as bad about having a gun worked on. Less variables is a good thing! Sounds like you are on the right track so I will spare you my rambling. Hope the Colorado place gives you some good answers/service.
