Gun Porn Again?

Postby Leech on Sat Nov 07, 2009 6:52 pm

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing photos of favorites last winter and wouldn't mind now seeing some pics of the unusual and rare pieces hiding in gun vaults.

I would like to begin by sharing the following, a S&W 35 Semi-Automatic Pistol aka Model of 1913. It was S&W's first venture into the semi-auto field and fired the proprietary .35 S&W Auto cartridge. Only 8,350 pistols were manufactured circa 1913-1921 and the ammunition was dropped in the late 1940s. There are several unusual characteristics of this pistol.
1) The grip safety is on the front of the grip.
2) A small thumb wheel on the rear of the grip is the safety.
3) The recoil spring is mounted above the barrel.
4) It is a blow back design with a recoil spring so strong that the slide is extremely difficult to withdraw. To aid in cycling, a thumb actuated cross bolt is depressed to disconnect the slide from the recoil spring.
5) Takedown is accomplished by pulling down on the trigger guard and tilting the barrel up slightly. Then a horizontal screw must be removed from the top rear of the slide to complete disassembly.

Nice piece...

My Turn, I've got other stuff but this is my only NFA weapon.
It's an slr-106ur I cut down.
*Edited to include a little bit more inf0*
It's essentially an ak-47 that has been cut down and put into a similar configuration as an ak-74SU.
Cambered in 7.62x39, It feeds from standard ak-47 magazines/drums and has a 8 inch barrel.
The rear sights are mounted on the dust cover rather than the rear trunion, to give a greater sight radius.
The dust cover is hinged on the rear trunion to keep the rear sights from moving around.
The cone shaped do-dad on the front is a 4-piece Bulgarian flash hider that really works wonders. with an 8 inch barrel there is a ton of unburned powder and quite a bit of muzzle flash. The flash hider really helps keep this down, it add nearly 2 inches to end of the rifle.

Here it is in the low drag configuration

Image

And here it is with all the fixens (silencer is a fake can).

Image

And before any of you go nuts, YES it's papered, if anyone has questions about the form 1 process send me a pm I'll point you in the right direction.

Amazingly enough it's one of my more accurate ak's even with it's 8 inch barrel it does 2-2.5 moa at 100. I credit most of this to the recrown job.

As of yet I don't own any full-autos, but do have a variety of military weapons. Here are 6 WW2 M1 carbines that are made by 6 different makers.

Carbines are a joy to shoot. Nice collection - I do not normally care for modern military rifles - just the WW2 stuff.

Ditto on the WW-II stuff plus WW-I from all countries. Love them all including handguns too. There were many real craftsmen back then and they did it all without computers.

Here's a Colt 1911 that was made in 1918 and then refurbished in the 1940's along with a correct holster and magazine.

Photo is a little blurry but here's a Spreewerk P-38 that was made in 1944 with Nazi markings and correct magazine.

It’s a stock A4 RRA pistol upper with a 7” barrel, Badger Tactical Latch and low profile gas black. All I did to the RRA lower was add a DMPS Oversized Safety Selector Switch, Hogue Grip and ACE stock. Unfortunately because of the oversised safety switch the Ergo grip did not work so I went to a Hogue. I like the Hogue a bunch but like the Ergo just a bit more. The sight is an ATN Ultra, It’s cheap and it’s a hammer. It will have to do until I can afford an Aimpoint T1 micro.

You guys might like this one too…
