Need a no recoil load that functions the compensated Gloack 24C racegun. Storm Lake barrel and 175 TC hand cast bullet

I don't know how it would function in a 24C, but the competition 40 load I use in my CZ75B SA is 3.6gr Titegroup under a 175gr lead semi wadcutter. Makes about 130 power factor and shoots very easily. I use a 12# recoil spring in my CZ for this load. One caution, Titegroup under lead is pretty smoky. If that bothers you I've also heard WST recommended for this type of load, supposed to smoke less. As always your mileage may vary, proceed with caution.

And most importantly, the disclaimer: RTFM first
The bold type giveth, the fine print taketh away.

Jeff: Thanks. The Compensated barrell relieves the pressure so dramatically, that I need enough "oomphf" to cycle the slide. I have my choice of 11# and 13# springs. What's going to concern me is if the gun will eject cleanly. I have seen some light loaded empty cases simply stay hooked under the extractor claw and stack upon the new round coming up from the magazine. That turns the gun into a single shot, of sorts. Bob

24C racegun?

If you have a true racegun then the compensator that was added needs the extra gas from a hotter load to make it work. If you have a stock 24C barrel configuration then any minimal 40 load is a good place to start.

Cool, thanks for the advice. My biggest concern is to not hammer the gun with too hot of a load. I've the Storm Lake rifled barrell for lead and I use the factory polygon barrel for copper clad major loads. The intention for the powderpuff loads was to teach my daughter not to flinch with centerfire. I want her to be able to keep both eyes open so she can call the shot. I want to settle on a powder that does not burn with too much luminosity, as the ports go vertical and if I have too much brilliance at firing inside, my eyes adjust to the light.

You are probably already aware of this, make sure she double plugs her ears. With the compensator, the loud report can also add to the flinching as much as the felt recoil. I think a lot of people are sensitive to the loud report and are not even aware of it.

I belong to BPR in Burnsville, and the range room is hard, with low ceiling. Echo/report/noise there is major. Ventilation is stingy, so there is lead vapor potential with ported bbl, too. I double muff the old ears there religously. The ported barrel is much louder that one would ever anticipate. Thanks..... The Edina Range is more like your living room, and it seems more quiet. But $15 a half seems rich for my hemoglobin.

You might want to look at Accurate Arms #5 powder. It has more of a "push" to it instead of muzzle flip.

As far as "smokey" goes....pretty much any powder behind a cast bullet will smoke. Its from the lube.

Shoot me a PM, you're welcome to come out to Delano (for free) and use the outdoor sound dampened range if you'de like. 8-)

i agree that no.5 has given great results, i was using 3.3g of no.5 in my steel shoots over the summer, no recoil whatsoever, much more accurate than i am.

I use IMR4756 6.6grs over 150gr hornadys. I run them in a resprung para 1640 and it shoots like a sling shot for my kids. It makes minor just.
