Black Bullets International

Postby Pinnacle on Tue Sep 15, 2009 5:35 am

I just got done loading 5000 rounds of 45 ACP with 230gr BBI RN and Power Pistol.

I would have to say that these are really nice bullets for the $$$ and shoot quite well. I have one complaint - your hands are going to get sticky from the coating that is applied to the bullets.

Other than that - consistent and easy to load.

I know Tony and Tom the owners and shoot with them. Great guy's. They bought out I believe Master Blaster Bullets.

The only issue we have had is some of the coating scraping off in seating the bullets into the shell. This was leaving a deposit around the rim and affected chamber checking the rounds due to the build up. The excess is easily wiped away, most likely could be eliminated with a little more flare on the rim of the shell.

In looking at the website, it appears that the lube groove is not filled. Is that the way they come with the idea that the coating replaces the need?

The coating serves as the "lube" as it high Moly Content

Just loaded another 2500 rounds since earlier - ZERO problems and yes you will have to open the case mouths up a little to keep from scraping off the coating and having a buildup around the mouths. I shot 100 yesterday and Power Pistol is working well with them - very little smoke and pretty clean.

These are meant for the Tommy Guns and I think that these will be fine. Another 2500 to go and I am done - I should have them knocked out this afternoon. Now the problem is finding suitable containers for all of this ammo - ammo cans are hard to come by these days.

MnSo4 lubed bullets are nice.....and black. Try the same process using using Boron Nitride, they are white, and not at all un pleasant to handle. You can apply it your self in a tumbler with steel shot. Otherwise, I will run the unsized slug thru a lubricator and then treat with BN. You can use Liquid Wrench Dry Lube as "glue" and you have never seen a more slippery bullet in your life. Make sure, though, that you use hybrid dies on the Dillon so you can dig out the exudate, even if you aggressively bell the case outh.

I loaded 2000 of the BBI rounds, for the money the were okay. I really didn't like the empty grease ring. I ended up switching to precision delta moly coated rounds, as they don't seem to leave as nasty a residue on your fingers. They seem to be made of harder lead, and the moly is thicker, and no grease ring means more area for the case to grip the bullet, meaning less setback issues (my gsr is has some issues with setback). The precision delta's are 20 bucks more a 2000, to me it was worth it.
BBI is run by Tom Drazy, he's a stand up guy, and takes care of customers, so buy with confidence.
