Sorry that I haven't been able to make any of the shoots. You folks are just darned lucky that the steel schedule happens to coincide with my weekends with the kiddies (who ate Pinnacle out of house and home... Thanks again, Bro!).

I very much enjoyed everyone's company this evening.

BTW, the unintendedly offensive sweat shirt I was wearing was prepared by a fellow with the initials A.R. Given the sideways glances I received all evening, I haven taken this opportunity to volunteer Andrew to speak in Jon Monson's place this coming Monday at WMCL.

I hadn't shot for several months prior to my first steel shoot and it was my best time. Apparently the practice I've being doing lately isn't paying off at all. It's like how someone1980 swears his XD performs flawlessly when he doesn't clean it, but always malfunctions after a good clean and lube. I feel like I'm shooting better, though, and it's fun either way.

June: 80.78
July: 132.7
Sept: 89.49
Oct: 107.8

Thank you Benny and China for another great shoot and Andy for the post-shoot BBQ.

It was a very good day at the range, well other than me breaking my gun. But still I managed third in the man v man, much higher than I ever expected to finish. Thanks to Ace for going so far out of his way to make sure that I could make this one and get home in time to make it to work. A big thanks to Butch for showing me exactly what I need to do to fix my gun myself rather than paying a 'smith to do it for me. I shall have it fixed and will make it to the Nov. shoot as long as we have one. And as always thanks to Benny and China for putting on a great event.

It's going to sound like an echo in here but thanks Benny and Kay!
Thanks Andrew and Mac for all the running and ROing on MvM.
Thanks to everyone for scoring.
Special thanks to those who brought TRUCKS and to MiniBrit for help in hauling steel.

I had a great time and learned a lot. I definitely need to do some weak hand shooting. 10% of my rounds expended was on one target of one run of one stage :-(

There were some stellar moments of the day too.

Fas proving that you CAN draw with BOTH feet in the air.
Butch proving that 5 pings on the same falling target IS aiming and not just spray and pray :-)
RET proving that slow is smooth and smooth is Good.

Thanks to everyone who came. I had a great time shooting and talking and it was very interesting to see everyone shoot.

Next time, More magazines.
The temptation is to get a full-size M&P for the range and steel shoots. Truth is, this is much better practice for carry so I think I'll stick with the Compact for now.

Let me add my thanks for another fun day and a special thanks to Benny for letting me know what it was I did wrong on one string in the 4th stage....Ya just gotta let the trigger go back and engage before you can pull it again!!! and pull the trigger before you move off target in that first mam v man round !!! Brain was way ahead of the finger  .

As alway it was nice to see everyone and to all the new guys (and gal) that I met, I am glad you came and it was fun to share the time with you and say hello. Look forward to the next time. I will not be there for the Nov. shoot. So it will be in the spring unless something else comes up that I can drive down too.
