the NRA will protects from this tho wont they?

You don't want to get into this discussion.

So you imply that joining the NRA is risky, but we shouldn't discuss it ... ?

Q: How can I reduce the amount of mail I receive from the NRA?
A: Simply email us at membership@nrahq.org or dial 800-NRA-3888 and request to be placed on the "Do Not Promote" list. This will significantly reduce the amount of mail you receive without affecting important mailings, magazine service, or your membership renewal.

No, "we" already discussed that.

What yanked my chain; The other night I was having dinner, the NRA called, the guy started the diatribe about the UN taking my guns and they NEEDED $100 to fight it. I told him he was preaching to the choir, and that I had to scrape just to keep membership this year. "Times are tough, Money's hard,,,"

Then there is that whole thing where the NRA is completely strategically mis-focused.

Current Plan: Get more money from the same minority, attempt to buy elections or votes.
Better: Get more shooters so that they are no longer a minority. Win elections, fear nothing.

What percentage of gun owners (or more importantly users) do you know who would credit the NRA with getting them in?

Got a similar call, wanting me to upgrade my membership from life to endowment-life for $200. When I told him money was tight and I couldn't afford that, he tried talking me into giving a life membership to a friend or family member for $300. I wanted to ask him how the H-E-double hockey sticks I was supposed to afford to pay SOMEONE ELSE'S $300 life membership fee, when I can't afford to send them $200.
