Free Rifle Brass part Deux.....

Postby Stradawhovious on Sun Feb 14, 2010 4:40 pm

OK. I have sorted all brass by caliber and headstamp. I kept what I am going to keep (surprisingly little), and will put the rest up here for grabs for twice what I paid for it. Since my cost was $0.00, you do the math.

A couple of things here..... Lets all look at this as a shared resource. GregM was nice enough to give away +/- 50 lbs of rifle brass, lets share it. Please no "I'll take it all" or the like. take some brass in a caliber you currently load and leave the rest for others. Brass will be assigned based on order of posts in this thread. Not PMs, not phone calls, only in the order of the posts here. that way everyone can see what is left.

BRASS (I will strikeout and put the names of the new owner next to them when I get around to it.)

I'd take as much federal 308 as I can get, unless that doesn't work out, in which case CBC 308 would be awesome.

Edit(right after Belgi posted): Norsesmithy said he wants in on some 30-06.

I'd love to have the 7.5x55...

It has come to my attention that there might be an issue with the CBC .308 brass. I was given this link as a resource....

http://www.thegunzone.com/30cal.html

Anyone shooting any surplus ammo would do themselves and others around them at the range a great service in reading it......

There were many of the above cases in the lot I sorted, all of which had already found their way to my scrap bucket before I posted this. The CBC in .308 I have up on the board here is stamped .308, not 7.62x75. I am still waiting on clarification from the person that brought this to my attention as to whether or not there might be an issue with this .308 brass. I will hold off on letting any of it (CBC .308) until I received further clarification.

As for the rest of it, it's still fair game. :D

I reload for .303 British and would like to give that brass a good home.

Strad: that website says that the pressures developed by the CBC 762x51, 75 cartridges were dangerous. Presumably these are fired casings and the only danger would be that the brass was pushed hard.

Kind of what I figured, but the PM sent to me by a trusted source had a broken link, I want to make sure that it wasn't a different issue being addressed. I would hate to give someone some brass that may be unsafe. none of the brass on here is stamped the 7.62 anyways.......

There should be some 7.62 NATO brass in there that I used in my SMLE 2A1. I bought from another MNGunTalk member who told me it was South African.

There was. It's all Berdan primed, and was tossed. (well not tossed, but thrown into the scrap bucket....)

count me in for some 243 sir, I'll take the 100 if possible (if someone speeks up for 50 thats fine by me also) , the dang AR10 chucks the stuff everywhere so now I could feel less guilty about leaving 1 or 2 cases here and there.

All that is spoken for has been tagged and bagged, and will reside in my vehicle for delivery. It's up to you to establish a where and when.....
