For whatever reason these are listed as Remington, but I just got the package today and they are factory Marlin magazines in Marlin bubble packs.

Cebrus Capital owns Marlin and Remington and Bushmaster and DPMS and NEF and... I'm pretty sure there's about 5 others.

So I do a whole bunch of lurking on this site without much posting but this I have to share. There could or could not be more to come as this may be over or it may play out further. I have got in on some good deals thru things that some of you have posted in the past. One of them was the Marlin 795 from Cabelas.

So earlier tonight I see this posting and when I clicked on the link provided it showed 3 mags in stock. Great price I thought and since I haven't found them at places I've looked at thus far, I hurriedly ordered up the three mags shown in stock. I received a confirmation email of the order. A little less than three hours later I receive an email stating the order has been placed in a back order status. That pissed me off because typically when it comes to firearm related stuff most of these companies seem to charge your card and I've seen some nightmares at how long it can take for back ordered items to finally become available.

Associated with the email that I received telling me of the back order is a link for resellerratings.com I decide to take advantage of this link and strike back.

My first time ordering from you today. I'm not a happy camper! Your web site showed that you had three of the mags IN STOCK that I ordered. I wanted 4 but I went ahead and ordered three since they were in stock. You accepted my order and confirmed the order by email. Less than three hours later I get an email that it's back ordered. You better not have charged my credit card for the order since it's been back ordered! You should not have accepted my order if you didn't have all the items in stock either. I know now I already don't like your company because of all of this! Why would I do business with a company that can't count?

A few minutes later I receive this email;

Dan,
I would request you would email us instead of posting a review to get
service, but what is done is done. Your order has been canceled and
your card will not be billed.

I was at the time that I received that email in the process of emailing them as I had just been back to their site and their site now showed 6 mags in stock even though my order for three mags was placed in back order status.

My reply to that email said this;

I was just in the process of emailing you as now I see that your web site shows 6 of these mags in stock. What is the problem there? It showed three mags in stock when I ordered. I wanted four but settled for three since that's what was in stock. The order goes thru gets confirmed and three hours later it's back ordered.

Now as I stated it shows 6 in stock. Who is operating this site and what is their problem? If there are now six in stock why is my order for three been back ordered? I've pasted the updated web site in this email!

So I then receive an email from reseller.com stating ManVentureOutpost.com has left a response to my review which said;

2/25/10 10:51 PM
The stock count is reconciled every 4 hours so every once in a while there is a discrepancy until it is reconciled. I apologize for the inconvenience. Your card will not be billed and the order will be canceled! We wish you the best of luck locating your items.

Then I receive an email again from them saying;

I will have to check to see what is going on. We get our data from our distributor and they might be having an issue with this item. I apologize for the inconvenience and thanks for your feedback. As I said earlier your order has been canceled and your card will not be charged. I will have to check this out in the morning.

Thanks,
Brandon B

I apologize if this message seems short, it was sent from my phone.

This has all transpired in approximately the last 5 hours. This I have learned tonight.
Don't believe everything you read on the internet! Ya I knew that before but it's been reaffirmed. {I'm referring to the in stock count with that current statement.}
Brandon B. is on top of things. This I say because by canceling my order my credit card may not be charged. {The next couple of days will tell for sure or not}

Anyhow, don't always believe the count shown and THANKS to all of you that take the time to post the deals you find!

Even though I've had to reach into the grab bag and take three advil, 1 muscle relaxer and 2 anti anxiety pills over this deal.

Now where's that damn drink I made? I'm kidding!

By the way I noticed that reseller.com has an easy link for updating reviews and I have every intention of updating my review for ManVentureOutpost.com as this plays out in the next week or so.

UPDATE from this Friday morning the 26th
Received a follow up email from Brandon;
Dan,
I checked this morning and the stock has reconciled with the warehouse
correctly. I apologize for the inconvenience. Currently it takes about
2 hours for the reconciliation to happen (it's been a real headache
since we moved to this "new and improved" shopping cart, and I haven't
been able to find a solution that works better yet, but I'll do some
more looking...) so you happened across them in the middle of a
reconciliation and they were there. Let me know if there is any way to
make this up to you.

Regards,
Brandon B.

I have to say I like Brandon's correspondence. He's trying. I plan on watching the stock count and ordering mags from them when they get some in. As I said earlier I haven't found them other places including a couple of the gun shows and I probably won't find them for a better price.

10.62 is a good price.

The nearest competitor (price wise) that I could find was CDNN at 13.99

I ordered 4 at 3 AM on the 2nd, my account shows they were shipped today the 4th. I'll update when they arrive. I found out that Brandon is the owner of the company. He definitively is trying. It's a great price on those mags.

Update/I just received my mags today at 3PM on the 5TH. Shipping doesn't get any faster than that!

from the same outfit that refused to ship me a collapsable stock for a shotgun, saying it was illegal in MN.

Rusty,
Pursuant to section 624.712, subd. 7(2), a firearm is also considered a semiautomatic military-style assault weapon if it is another model of a listed firearm, is made by the same manufacturer as the listed firearm, has the same action design, and

-Is a redesigned, renamed, or renumbered version; or
-Has a slight modification or enhancement (such as a folding or retractable stock; adjustable sight; case deflector for left-handed shooters; shorter barrel; wooden, plastic, or metal stock; larger clip size; different caliber; or a bayonet mount).

A person who wishes to acquire a semiautomatic military-style assault weapon may apply to the local chief of police or county sheriff for a transferee permit, although a transferee permit is not required for purchase of such weapons. Minn. Stat. § 624.7131. See the Minnesota Licensing of Gun Purchasers/Owners section for further information.

With certain limited exceptions, if a person wishes to acquire a semiautomatic military-style assault weapon from a federally licensed dealer, but does not have a transferee permit or a permit to carry a handgun, the dealer must file a report with the police chief or sheriff, who then performs a background check. Section 624.7132, subd. 1, 2; see also section 624.7132, subd. 12(a)(exempting transfers from non-dealers from this requirement). See the Minnesota Background Checks section for further information.

I don't agree with these policies, and I'm not sure of the exact nature of them, but for me and my business, I'd rather be safe than sorry. If you can get it locally I'm glad you can at least still get it, and I would go for it! In this political climate, I can't take any chances on how the MAN interprets your newly modified assault weapon!

I can imagine it's a nightmare for online dealers like yourself to keep track of what's legal where, and I can't blame you for trying to CYA. In this case, though, you missed out on some business due to misunderstanding the law.

"Semiautomatic military-style assault weapons" are not illegal in MN, they just require a permit to purchase. The bold part of the statute you posted is basically saying that slightly changing an assault weapon's configuration doesn't exclude it from being an assault weapon. Either a firearm is on the list or it's not. Modifying parts on a non-listed gun does not suddenly qualify it as an assault weapon.

Hey, anybody need some of these? I'm going to place an order and would be happy to order more so we can save on shipping. Here's how the pricing looks including shipping...

I was planning on ordering 4 for myself. That would be $13.70 $13.14 per mag.

For 10, it would be $12.50 $11.95 per mag.

They currently list 23 in stock (hopefully, that's accurate!). If we buy em all, it would be $11.75 $11.20 per mag.

I'll be placing the order this afternoon, so let me know sooner rather than later if you want in.

Update: I found a 5% off coupon that may work, reducing the price further. I can't confirm it will work without getting well into the checkout process.

Update 2: 5% off is valid. I had missed the coupon code box off to the side in the cart. Prices updated.
