1911 Grips

Postby FirearmFan on Tue May 04, 2010 2:56 pm

Does anyone know of a nearby store that stocks 1911 grips? Or even somewhere online that I could order them but still get them within about a week? I'm looking for real basic black grips. I'm looking at possibly rubber or a wood that is comfortable. I have a springfield black stainless loaded and the grips that came with it are pretty sharp. It doesn't bother me too much but it hurts my girlfriend's hands. We're going up to my cabin next week and I plan on doing a lot of shooting and helping her with her shooting. She likes the feel of my P2000 and my 1911 best but the grips on the 1911 are a little too sharp every time she shoots it. Thanks

I've never seen grips at gunstop before but maybe i'll have to make a trip over there. I had looked on strad's website but it says he's currently not taking orders right now.

It's not really on the way to or from anywhere for me, but I just like going there.

Assuming its the checkering that is too rough, you could knock it down a bit with some 400 grit sandpaper. The checkering would still be there, but breaking the edge of the sharp points would be much more comfortable.

Bills has 1911 grips, pretty good looking ones too.

Otherwise go to midway and ship it fast.
