a fair belt

Just picked up one of these today at Cabelas.

Wasn't looking for a belt, but happen to see them when walking by and checked them out. For $29.99 I don't think they are a bad deal, plenty stiff, but the buckle isn't the best. But for those looking for an inexpensive belt, I would check these out.

Only time will tell if they will hold up as well as my better belts.

I looked at the web site and couldn't find the width of the belt. What width is it?

1.5"

You may want to take the ad with you, when they rang up may belt, the sale price didn't show. The sales person took my word for it on the price, but it would have been easier to just show the ad.

Another note, check out the lengths, they are not all the same length even though they say so. Holding two belts of the same length side by side and one was almost and inch longer and holes were offset about an inch. There was one in brown that was super heavy, much thicker than the rest, but the wrong size for me.

These are currently being made offshore. they used to be made here, and I have a couple of the older Made in the USA belts, The new ones seem to be just fine, except that the sizing is crazy. I was there with FJ and we were looking, he found some 40 Plus inch labeled belts that would not go around him, and he found a 34 inch belt that had 8 inches plus of extra once he tried it on.

I think mine is well over 15 years old, and its held up fine.

I am currently using that exact belt. Never again. The stitching is coming out and it's gotten soft. Cabela's name brand products have gone steadily down hill over the past 5 years.

This is not a $120 Brommeland, $120 Bullman, or even a $95 Milt Sparks belt, this is a $30 belt. So do I expect it to wear like one of those, not for that price, but thought I would give one a try to see how it held up and maybe it would have turned out to be one of those jewels in rough. ;)
