John took my hand and led me into the light of reloading. I will always be thankful for his "straight forward" advice. Usually I have to call him for help and in less than the time it takes to type this, problem is solved. Do not be put off by his demeanor. His is the shortest distance between your question and your enlightenment. Hank

I'll order stuff that GS doesn't not deal with, which is usually not in the reloading area, like holsters etc. I recently needed shims for my red dot scope. I won't mention the name of the store in Lakeville that supposedly ordered them for me. They never called, I stopped in several times, to find they had never arrived. I got them in 3 days from Optic Planet.

OTOH I bought a bunch of .430 lead bullets from GS but I think MO bullets were cheaper. I'll gladly pay the few bucks to support GS. And the advice regarding leading potential with a specific load was worth the extra few bucks and I am confident of the answer.

IF I can buy the bullets for close to what Johnboy sells them for, I try to give him the money, If he does not have them, or for some reason is much too high, I wlll order online. I used to buy 10K bullets or more at a time, and there was a place that treated me well at that price. Johnboy really did not seem to care, but if I need hunting bullets, or dies, he is about the only place I wlll go.

The worst kind of reloader is the Shotgunner! Then after listening to a fellow shooter that shoots 3 gun....well they want the best of everything, too....inexpensive and clean shooting....those two words are mutually exclusive.... Then we have the whiners! Oh they whine about every thing. Any business has to make $ on products, or else they could not stay in business. Sure you can beat local places on some items. Anyone with time and inclinatioin to work out a a great price should work out a group buy and see what you dollar can do.....most places will not listen to you.....till you are talking big #. Look a Montana Gold, they have price breaks at 10,000# of bullets in 45 Cal bullets that 285,000 230gr FMJ's. Sierra has drop ship deals for 1000.00 orders....And, places like Grafs will ship stuff truck frt if you order enough....but that means having a place to unload at.
Some places have min orders in the thousands of dollars....and are not into one time deals.....

I think Missouri bullets are great with delivery and pricing. Nobody comes close....I think BBI has good pricing and delivery times. Montana Gold is great with little or no lead time. Perhaps Precision Delta and Zero can beat the pricing, but they are back ordered and you may have to wait....

Say what you will but the Gunstop both sides of the store are the best we have in the Metro....like it or not price wise they have no peers....

Obviously, this salesperson knows his stuff from all the testimonials. But even most of his defenders admit he has a "unique" manner about him. Reminds me of coaches we all know who are abrasive but tolerated because they produce results. Buy where you feel valued; avoid places where you don't.
