Dick's Ammo Prices To Go Up?

Postby rtk on Sun Nov 18, 2007 10:38 am

FWIW
I stopped at Dick's(Minnetonka) to pick up a case of 9mm this morning and the manager told me that it was a good thing I was buying it now because the price was going up $2.00 a box next week. I know that we have heard this chatter for awhile, but he told me it was a for sure thing next week.

He may just be referencing the fact that the sale is ending. From 6.99 bx back to 8.99 bx when you buy 10.

If that's the case wait another week or 2 and it will be back on sale.

What concerned me was that he pointed to the $10.98 non-sale price and said that it would be moving up to $12.98. Hopefully he didn't know what he was talking about. :o

Yep, this has me reconsidering the other "thing" that I was going to buy this week. I may wait until I find one in 9mm and use it for ESP instead of stepping up with the "Big dogs".

And all these people have been telling me it isn't worth reloading 9mm. :P

I usually shoot my own handloads, but when I attend training classes that require factory ammunition, I shoot Sellier & Bellot. I have shot thousands of rounds of this in both 9mm and 45 acp with no problem. Massab Ayoob's Advanced StressFire I shot I think 750 rounds of 9mm on a Saturday and on Sunday another 1100 with zero problems.

Edited to add, the worst factory ammo I have seen is Winchester white box, mostly misfires. I know others here will disagree, but I have seen nothing but problems with it in classes and competition.

I'm with cobb on this one, I've had better luck with s&b in my kel-tec than with Remingtons.

S&B keeps pretty good groups in my mauser too.

I was just in the Richfield store and they received a bunch of Remmington ammo today. I picked up a case of 9mm with the $10 fishing regs book coupon (expires on the 31st. ask for it at the customer service desk) and my $10 Dicks Scorecard reward for a total of $53.11 after taxes. Thats like 11 cents a round. :D
