I've got a Kimber Eclipse Pro II that I absolutely love. Its got some amazing wood grips made by some guy that frequents this forum. He's kind of an asshat, but his grips are pretty nice. One of the best gun purchases I ever made.

Yes........ IF you unfortunate enough, and foolish enough to purchase a 1911, check out Strad's Custom Grips, they are tops!!!!

His grips are great, and never mind that his website says he is no longer taking orders. That's just his attempt to make them more in demand and "collectible".

That, and he likes to complain about how busy he is.

Speaking of Strad's grips, you ever gonna take up checkering on them things? Your grips look great, but would look even better with some tasteful checkering.

I have only 1 1911, this Dan Wesson Sportsman with wooly mammoth ivory grips. I really like the 10mm and this one fit the bill for me.

Just buy what you want and be done with it. Is anyone here going to say anything to convince you otherwise?
