. If your taper crimp is weak on a 40 S&W max load in a Glock, the bullet sets back and you get a kaboom. Interestingly, the Redding 40 cal push-through die specifically EXCLUDES brass fired in Glocks.

You can't fix setback issues by overdoing your taper crimp. The case tension is what holds the round in place in a non roll crimped round. Taper crimp is just there to take the bell out. If your taper crimp is to spec and you are still suffering from setback issues increasing it won't fix jack. This is where an undersized resizing die really helps. I've been running the EGW U dies for range brass, it's the cats meow IMHO.

On a more serious note, for informational purposes only, one of the top CQB focused units in the world just got rid of their 1911's and went to the Glock 21 because of reliability, particularly in really dirty/dusty places.................
