Shooting a few blocks from my house...

Postby PileDriver on Mon Jul 12, 2010 9:34 pm

Second homicide in Rosemount ever just occurred at a car wash about a half mile from my house. Not much for details, happened a few hours ago.

Description of the perp from Fox 9:

Witness described the suspect as a light-skinned black male, 25-30 years old, tall – possibly 6’3” or taller. The vehicle the suspect left the scene in is described as a 1997 to 2000 gold or tan colored Mercury Sable.

And he was just starting to turn his life around too...

That's a little too close to home. My wife is worried now, because she walks around the neighborhood, (about two mile north of the incident).

She should have been worried before.

I live about two miles from Lake Phalen and I'm not wetting my pants and living in fear.

That's a lie. I carry a gun, after all.

Basically true, not much changed. The possibility was always there, just took some jerk to do it. Kinda weird though, seeing the wash going on with business as usual today. This morning it was still taped off and the BCA was still there, get home and people are washing cars again. But yeah, first time someone around my age has died that I actually knew. Anthony went to my mom's daycare, we practically lived together for a couple summers. Too bad he went in the direction he did.

http://www.startribune.com/local/south/ ... page=1&c=y

Grice's mother, Pat Grice, who is employed at the Star Tribune, said Wednesday that her son is a "good kid" who went willingly with his parents to Burnsville police, and that she believes he was likely trying to defend himself following the altercation.

1) Kid? He's 27. But at least we now start to see how your son became the way he did.
2) Good? His history disagrees. Someone who commits assault, felony sexual assault, illegally carries a firearm, and oh yeah... murders someone is NOT "good".
3) Ah yes, defending against that deadly smack talk.

Grice's father, Gerald Grice, said he did not know the circumstances of what led to the shooting, but also believes his son was not the aggressor.
"I'll be honest with you, I don't know what transpired, but I do know my kid, and he's not one to go out and bully or pick on anybody, he's never done that," he said. "I feel certain that he went to wash his car, and that's all he was doing was washing his car."

1) No sir, judging by the assault and felony rape convictions, he certainly has never gone out to hurt someone. Never.
2) You forgot the part where he shot and killed someone.

Nice try, just admit you raised a piece of ****.

Can you elaborate on this, the news reports said he was an Eagle Scout and didn't give any indication that he had any trouble.

LOL ... another case of accomplice parents vouching for the "good character" of their career criminal kid. Is life like a broken record or what? The same thing over and over without end.

Nothing major, wrong crowd IMO, which led to a DUI and later marijuana possession. His mouth got him in trouble since elementary school, but behind that barrier he put up was a really nice guy.

Pretty much. I'm surprised we didn't hear
