Whisle, Crispy and Benny I can understand, but I really thought I was hot today on the steel portion.....

He was even using a new gun! :? :)

If I had to guess, it was because he was faster................ ;)

I'll kick ass next time.

That's what I've been saying for three years now. I'm starting to think I just may be fooling myself.
our quarrel is not about the value of freedom per se, but stems from our opinion of our fellow men … a man’s admiration of absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him --Alexis de Tocqueville--

Andrew pointed out to me how much different timed placing is from MvM so I tried to show that on this graphic:

Told you there'd be lot of crossed lines!

A lot of that is due to the vagaries of the tournament system, in particular the random pairing at the start. If the best shooter goes up against the 2nd-best shooter in the first round and beats him, the 2nd-best shooter is in the bottom half of the standings of the MvM.

I had an excel sheet all worked up for seeding the tournament. everything except how the resulting brackets place in the end. I need an example to work from there.
it is set up for 64 people though. and with only 27 participants that's a LOT of byes. Not too difficult to do a 32 person one though.

That and it doesn't handle you're done shooting DQ's though those are fortunately rare

It's also not a perfect way to look at it. Looking at percentiles would be better. If you were 18/36 in Timed events and 14/28 in MvM, you didn't move at all though the graph will show you moving up 3 places.

This is a great example of the saying: "The perfect is the enemy of the good". I'm really glad Benny & China didn't wait to try to come up with a perfect system, 'cause I've had so much fun shooting in the current system, as imperfect as it is. If we can make it less random, so much the better, but I'm not too worried about it.
