Ding, ding, ding. The best way to knock the wind out of people such as this pastor is to simply ignore them.

While I really don't care if he burns them or not. However, I think it is depressing we seem so concerned over someone burning a book when daily people all over the world burn our flag and no one bats an eye.

Well hopefully something good will come from this, maybe some thing changed with the Mosk. It does seem strange to not be threatened by bible burnig but it doesn't make the truth go away just because you burn a peice of paper. I'm not insecure in my faith.

Perhaps this is one of the challenges we face in this fight of extremist islamic fundamentalism. We can't go to a country finish it and put it all in a history book. I wonder what percentage of our enemy is literate? I don't think they are dum, stupid or crazy; so how do you reach a people that for generations have been taught to hate the Imperialist American Devil!

We wave to them with one hand and shoot at them with the other. I would be confused and wait for us to leave to. If we loose this battle it will be to soft Jihad. We'll wake up one morning and not have as many choices as we did before and this is what pisses me off. Islam, as far as I know is not on the decline. And how much time will take? Three or four generations? Look at Europe and tell me it can't happen here. And should we wait till we are the last place where freedom lives?

To me Islam is more than a religon it's law, government, society and justice and thats why it bumps heads with western thought and why it should NOT fall under the American thought of "freedom of religon".

Don't despair dude.

The enlightened beacon of the free world has yet to elect a woman president, yet Indonesia, the most populous Muslim-majority country, elected Megawati Sukarnoputri as president, Pakistan, the second most populous Muslim-majority country, twice elected Benazir Bhutto as prime minister, Bangladesh, the third most populous Muslim-majority country, elected Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina as prime ministers, and Turkey, the fifth most populous Muslim-majority country, elected Tansu Çiller as prime minister

They aren't all as backwards as us. :D

I question literacy rates as well...

The proper spelling is mosque.

stoneboat wrote:It does seem strange to not be threatened by bible burnig but it doesn't make the truth go away just because you burn a peice of paper.

The proper spellings are burning and piece.

stoneboat wrote:Perhaps this is one of the challenges we face in this fight of extremist islamic fundamentalism.

Islamic is capitalized.

stoneboat wrote:I don't think they are dum, stupid or crazy;

Dumb has a 'b' at the end.

stoneboat wrote:I would be confused and wait for us to leave to.

I think you're looking for the word 'too' here.

stoneboat wrote:If we loose this battle it will be to soft Jihad.

You can't loose a battle but you can lose one.

stoneboat wrote:And should we wait till we are the last place where freedom lives?

What does preparing land for planting have to do with this?

stoneboat wrote:To me Islam is more than a religon it's law,

You forgot an 'i' in religion.

stoneboat wrote:government, society and justice and thats

There is an apostrophe in "that's."

stoneboat wrote:why it bumps heads with western thought and why it should NOT fall under the American thought of "freedom of religon".

I'm not joking there is an additional 'i' in religion.

Just saying.

Who the **** cares? What the **** does it matter the physical characteristics of the person holding the office? Why is this so incredibly **** hard for people to understand??? :hammer:

We can only vote for the people running. I can't think of a single female candidate for whom I'd have voted had she made it to a general election. I can think of a large number of women I would vote for if they actually ran, but that's not going to make any difference now is it...

To be fair, I cannot think of very many men who have run that I'd have voted for either. The fact that no female has held the office of President is just as irrelevant as any other categorization in this regard, and anyone who believes otherwise is part of the problem, running or not. Vote for qualified individuals who hold correct principles, regardless of race, gender or creed...

Of course, I'm obviously a racist, sexist pig, so anything I say can be pretty easily dismissed...

Of course. It's just as infantile as saying all Muslims are illiterate. But it is still a fact.

Water molecules are made of 2 Hydrogen atoms & 1 Oxygen atom. Another fact that is just as relevant - feel free to use it next time instead, free of charge... 8-)
