It's too bad you couldn't find the primer... that could have potentially explained what happened. How fast were you firing when it happened? Did the slide look completely locked up when you pulled the trigger? Some folks say having a dirty chamber can prevent the round from seating completely and cause a case failure.
clemmac wrote:A "moderate rate of fire" (see original post) I don't look at the gun when I'm shooting, I don't know where the slide was when I pressed the trigger. The previous shot hit the steel I shot at, it felt completely normal as to sound and recoil sensation. Do you look at the slide between shots when you're shooting ?
gyrfalcon wrote:Not always, depends how fast and what sort of shooting I'm doing... sometimes I tip the front sight up and bring the pistol down slowly on the target and I'm able to see the barrel/slide pretty well. So do you think it was the ammo or the firearms fault?

I'll continue to buy CCI Blazer ammo when the price is favorable and maybe even a few more Glocks (IF, I have enough room in the safe to store them)

Well from what I've seen I would blame the firearm... Then again I don't want to get into a drawn-out disagreement about the Glock disconnector, usupported chambers and chamber wall thickness especially relating to the .40S&W Glocks.![]()
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Glock fan...I just don't believe they're all perfect.

The process required a tiny bit of give and take, the lady wanted me to drop the ammo at a UPS depot, but that's quite difficult where we live. I'm happy with the resolution. The new ammo isn't here yet of course and if things don't turn out as expected I'll let the forum know.

Please let us know how it all turns out.

MrVvrroomm wrote:Glock hasn't and never will admit they have a problem with their .40 chamber support. Below is a pic of the Glock .40 barrel evolution:
Firing out of battery? I just spent 20 minutes trying to get one of my Glocks to release the striker when pistol was out of battery. The best I was able to do was about 1/16" out of battery. While the slide may not have been fully forward, the relationship between the slide and the barrel remained the same.

The chamber support on my 22 is identical to my 31. Both 2009 manufacture dates.
