I have never seen a Columbia River knife that doesn't work. Actually they are some of my favorites.

CRKT has a lifetime warranty. I'm sure they'll take care of it for you.

OK. I had another look. The double locking system had me fooled. It really does work. Great knife.

Knife works, gun works, I'm a happy camper.

Thanks for the comment! :)

Bullit,I'm glad it worked out, your knife collection could grow at the same rate as your gun collection.

I just handled one and took one apart over at Carry Depot, The internals look a lot like a Glock. The outside of the slide looks real nice, I didn't like the inside of it so much, The parts where stuff might ride against each other look good but clearance areas almost look like a casting that hasn't been machined.

Its strange, you need to push the ejector down to disassemble it, I think its part of the mag safety but it needs to go down when disassembling.

That hinged ejector has been a trademark of Rugers Auto centerfires for years.
its odd, but it works.

I finally figured out how to remove the magazine safety from my SR9. Now that I know how, it can be done in just a minute or two.

Now I can shoot with the magazine out, don't have to worry about damage if I dry fire with no magazine, and can pull the magazine, show clear, and DROP HAMMER on command without having to empty a magazine, put it back in the pistol and then pull the trigger.

Any how, it's easy to do. Rather than bore everyone I will just say PM me if you want directions on how to do it.

Oh, it's also very easy to put back in if you haven't lost it.

How are you guys finding the trigger?

The one I dry fired was horrible. It was so gritty I could hear it grind. I have squirt guns with better triggers. I am hoping it was not a representative sample.

My trigger isn't as bad as you describe. I find it acceptable, but admit it could be better.

I am new to this forum, so here goes. I am also new to carrying concealed and will this week purchase my first handgun. I have decided on the Ruger SR9 for various reasons. I am adding my two cents here because I have heard of the gritty trigger issue before and it appears that the more you shoot the SR9, the better that gets... and that it gets down right smooth.

Can those of you who own the SR9 confirm that?

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to this forum greatly!

I shot one of these [post recall] SR9s and I thought it was the worst 9mm I had ever shot. My Taurus is a lot better (PT92) and my Glock 17 is MUCH better. My biggest problem with the SR9 is the heavy trigger and terrible break ... it wasn't the easiest gun to shoot with a consistent pull. I wouldn't own one without a trigger job and then I may as well buy a better gun.

hate to say it, but i haven't found a decent new ruger in some time. I had to send my LCP back (sold it). i thought the charger was a let down (too huge). the LCR? Don't get me started...

And now the SR9 - i can't stand the trigger! even if you can get one for under $400, i would much rather spend the extra $100 on a glock and have a decent trigger out of the box than having to run a bunch of ammo or having a trigger job done to get it where it's comfortable. it seems like it's put together well, nice weight and balance.

I've enjoyed any ruger product i've ever owned as long as it was made/designed before 1995. what happened to the gun maker for the little guy?

Ruger should stick to revolvers perhaps ;-) I like the SP101 357Mag!
