And I just finished getting it in the baggies and respective cold locations, and pumping out another 20 rds of ammo so I can light off the whole batch while making other hunters cringe (not really, I had a sight-in issue and burned up my ammo fixing it).

Time to put mama to the one we just cleaned in the freezer, and then see about getting pops to show his freaking head for once instead of digging up the whole damn woods leaving new scrapes every night...

I should be in the woods by two.

Westberg - Nice deer. What area do you hunt to find the pleathora of nice bucks?

We did OK for Opening weekend and at last count last night we had 8 hanging. All small and most female - only one decent sized spike buck - none harvested by me. Heading up again this weekend to give it another try. Seems like where ever I set up there are no deer, the next day I'll move to another spot, someone will sit where I was and pop one. Oh well, that is what you get for being impatient I guess. I think I'll try the Doe in Estrous body shampoo to lure out the 10 pointer that I'm sure is out there.............

Good luck to you all this weekend.

Our property is located about 10 miles west of Sturgeon Lake on the Pine/Aitken county line. The property owners around us did not do as well, we are trying to understand the reason why this year was so good.

All fall we were getting pictures of nice deer on our camera's. We set them up in area's where we believe have the most traffic but we don't set stands over them. There is a lot of standing water in the low area's that may be funneling the deer to our stands. Our area is not known for big racks, although every year at least a couple are taken in the area.

Good luck to those who are still going out. I'm about to hit the road.
