So he sold out? Wow...

Kind of disappointed in that resolve...

I like the traffic level of thehighroad, I dislike the moderation, a lot, though I've never had an issue, their mods suck, I was kind of hoping they'd ousted them when Oleg won the case.

I don't think he sold out. I think he pretty much lost the case. At least that's what I think when trying to read between the lines.

I wonder if I will still get a warning everytime I say ass or dick and told that those words aren't high road enough.

I think Oleg did a smart move....

Derek Zennah (The guy who stole the forum) had been running thr.org into the ground. thr.us had a similar content, similar name, and a similar layout. Confusing to new people...

Oleg managed to sell all of the rights to the "THR" empire, (hopefully for a large sum) and now zennah is free to run the whole thing into the ground, while oleg starts fresh on his new site.

Not an ideal situation, but I think Oleg made a good move.

Does anybody know what the new site is?

This was extremely confusing for me on which was which. I have accounts on both, but almost never visited the sites simply because it seemed like school kids bawling in the playground over who stole who's ball.

Don't think I'll visit the new site much either.

Interesting!! I had been logging onto THR.org quite a few years ago while I was still working (2003?) and at the time it wasn't a bad place to hang out. Went back about 6 months ago, and just got tired out by the huge crush of humanity plus so many threads that you couldn't keep up. In addition, there was this mix of a torrent of new people who wanted somebody to tell them all about reloading without bothering to read the section on this subject, mixed in with people who had been reloading for 45 years and were doing some pretty exotic stuff, and the usual hostile snipers who only liked to criticize other people's opinions. Bigger was clearly not better at THR...

THR. Meh. Blecchh. There was a thread about the Black Panthers and I mentioned that I had heard of one of them, Elder Cleavage. That got me a big assed mod lecture and (oh woe is me, A VIOLATION POINT). And a detention.

:rotf:
Maybe it wasn't the honest error in remembering the name that they objected to, but the picture it made in their minds.
our quarrel is not about the value of freedom per se, but stems from our opinion of our fellow men … a man’s admiration of absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him --Alexis de Tocqueville--
