Ironically, she was shot with the same type(or similar) gun that she owns...

“I have a Glock 9-millimeter, and I’m a pretty good shot,” she said.

You expected less? Of course there would be fall out from such an incident. Politicians on both sides are shameful period and will use any situation to their advantage.

My condolences are with the victims and their family's.

I like the Tea Party and listen to conservative talk radio, and do NOT believe they are condoning or inciting violence.

Well, we know Jane only believes in inciting violence against our own military.

What little I have seen in terms of news coverage (I only get the local channels), it has been the reporters who have pushed the "political" angle and not the politicians. I've seen coverage on ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX and it was that way in every case. Having said that, almost all seemed to want this to be about more than a paranoid schizophrenic lashing out irrationally at the object of his delusions. One exception was Rand Paul who pretty much said just that.

:exactly:

But you won't ever hear anyone in the media pointing to Obama or the Daily Kos as examples of using a bull's-eye or gun references in their political speech.

Call for Gun Control in wake of AZ Shooting:

The shooting in Arizona has once again sparked debate over the issue of gun control and the availability of guns like the one that Jared Laughner allegedly used in the incident.

Representative Raul Grijalva of Arizona, a Democratic colleague of Ms. Giffords, said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press" that gun laws "have to be examined."

And in an online posting, Paul Helmke, of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, wrote that "we can and should do more to address the easy access to high-powered guns that make it too easy for dangerous and irresponsible people to disrupt and destroy the lives of innocent Americans, and political leaders who are simply trying to serve their communities and our country."

As opposed to doing something about the political leaders who are doing everything they can to make us into a socialist state? Seems to me the issue is rather 2 sided, although I would agree that mentally ill people should be only allowed to own guns on a case by case basis (someone who has beaten depression and has no issues with it, versus a paranoid schizophrenic that thinks the world is out for them at all times for example).

Oh how many more people have to die before we can get the government to control us better? Insane people would be so much less dangerous if we could just do something about that freedom thing.
