I'm a Glock guy though, so the less doo-hickies hanging off or out of the gun, the better.

Glock does not have a micro anything, does it??
To me , they make excellent guns . I just do not understand all the Gen stuff.
The pistol angle just does not work for me. I almost bought one a few times but never pulled the trigger on the deal.

Well, the smallest they get is the G26 or 36, and those in my opinion are still not a pocket gun. I don't mind the Generations, its just cosmetic and personal preference stuff, nothing substantial to how the guns function.

Can't argue with the angle thing. I notice it when I shoot my wife's 1911.


The key is, you either train yourself how to use a particular weapon or you don't. Some guys aren't willing to go to a Glock completely and the re-training your natural point of aim is part of that reason. No big deal.

i started combat shooting with a Colt 1911that was customized for our LRRP team for free by Colt. One of the Supply guys had a cousin who was an exec for Colt and he did us a favor. he was a nice guy for doing that for us.

I moved to Sigs about seven years ago and have found no need to buy other brands of pistols. Well, that is really not so. I would buy and then sell at a loss.

I have an LCR for Ruger as my carry pocket gun and will take a very strong look at the LC9 ( after the first recall)/

Glocks work just as well as every other reliable pistol out there, far as I can tell. Darn near perfect is darn near perfect, whether its a Sig, Colt, Glock, or I suppose if you are super lucky, even junk like Taurus if you get a good one

In my case, a Glock was the 2nd handgun I'd ever bought, and the first one didn't function like it was supposed to. I also didn't have cash to be buying and trying 30 different pistols. So I had a GLock and I was bound and determined that I'd learn to use it. Could have been anything else and I'd be just as happy, but fate delt me a Glock. Some guys feel sorry for me bsed on that!

You can bet if I was getting a customized Colt, I'd be pretty attached to that though.

There seem to be some reported problems with the new Sig P290. A few of which are a 9lb trigger pull and no double strike capability.

What about the Kel-Tec P-11?

I think Kel-Tecs serve their purpose, but just fall into a different category as far as quality/fit/finish is concerned. One of those times where you get what you pay for - and you aren't paying very much.

I have owned a LCP and it was handy to just throw in my pocket. I got rid of it because I wanted a defensive round that stops my attacker, not tickles him. The LC9 looks like a nice package, however I like carring a pistol that has a full sized grip because I feel more comfortable handling it. I carry a full size SR9 now and with the proper holster it is very comfortable. I hope the LCP does well. I am sure that Ruger went through it more that the LCP because of the recall on the LCP

Would like to keep the pocket gun caliber the same as the big carry gun caliber. Haven't seen many small .45's though (slim as 9mm's at least, but reality has a way of ruining that.)

They started making the slim, compact .45ACP carry gun almost 70 years ago. Here's one!

I was searching for some info and reviews on the LC9, which I have been anxiously anticipating for some time and came across this site. I didn't even know this forum existed until today, glad I found it. A local "Gun Talk" forum. Nice.

I'm also happy I finally picked up my new LC9 today as well!

I'm in search of a good holster for it, as it's still so new there aren't many options out there. I have a Bianchi IWB that works for my Bersa as well as my Kahr and Walther PPK/S, but the LC9 has an odd trigger guard so it doesn't won't fit the Bianchi quite right. Going to head out to the Frontiersman and see what they have available. If anyone has one of these, I would appreciate some suggestions for holsters. I'll also post back with whatever I come up with. It's actually just small and light enough I can just toss it in my pocket for now. Can't wait to get to the range and give it a try!
