Perhaps this question is worthy of a thread split, but can someone who is reloading 9mm please break down the costs associated with this?

Several years ago, about the time ammo prices began to skyrocket, I decided I would look into reloading. I priced everything as found at the Sportsman's Warehouse in Woodbury (while it was still open).

Even if I factored out the cost of the machine, I could still buy 9mm cheaper than I could reload it.

buying in bulk, at least 12k bullets at a time, 16 pounds of powder and 50k primers or so, I think my cost was around $12/100
But that's shooting only JHP. Probably could go a little cheaper.

I haven't had to buy 9mm components in awhile though.

I'll get slammed for saying this, but I have been getting it at Cabela's when they have their sale-Remington UFC 250 round (FMJ) for $60 (0.24 cents/round) which for a 50 round box comparison would equal $12.00/box.

I can reload 9mm cheaper than I can buy it. The issue that really stands out is that it takes quite a bit of my time to reload ammo. If you put a monetary value on your time, reloading 9mm for a cost savings can become fairly difficult.

Carry ammo comesfrom streichers. 13 dollars a Box for good nine. 17 dollars A Box for .45 HSTs

Best price for blasting 9mm has been about $11 per fifty that I have seen. I can buy good jacket bullets for 7.2 cents. Primers are about 1.8 cents. Powder is about 1.5 cents per round. That's 10.5 cents for good loaded ammo. Or $10.50 per hundred for nine mm.

+1....or I send my wife into the ammo room.

It's really nice to have TWO allotments for ammo through ATK...

Got this in an email today. Shipping might kill the deal, but I thought I'd pass it along.

The Fleet Farm in Lakeville usually keeps a pretty good stock of aluminium-cased CCI Blazer 9mm ammo at $10 per 50-round box.

That's about the cost I came up with, but without having to buy in bulk. The breakdown:

Projectile: Berry's 115 gr. TCJ RN @ $80/1000 = $0.08/projectile
Primer: Small pistol primer @ $28/1000 = $0.028/primer
Powder: 5 gr. Hodgdon's Universal @ $20/7000 gr. (1 lb.) = $0.0143/charge
Case: Range floor pick-ups = free

===> Material cost per 9mm cartridge: $0.1223/round = $6.12/50 rounds = $12.23/100 rounds
