I've only been to a couple indoor ranges ... to my knowledge, they won't tolerate that sorta thing ... not for too long, anyhow.

Even if you're a member of a gun club, and someone leaves brass lay, the couple I've been a member of collect that, and sell it ... that's part of their revenue.

Otherwise, ya could buy 1,000pcs 9mm fired brass for $30 fairly easily. Shoot it, pick half of it up ... reload it, shoot it, pick half of it up ... and so on.

I just reload 9 MM. Maybe once per year I will run low on reloads and buy a case. My reloading costs currently run 6.24 per 50 rounds. 9 MM brass is super cheap to find in bulk if you look for it. Depends on how often you shoot, for a thousand rounds per year I would just buy it off the shelf, for myself, I go through more than 12K per year so I reload everything.

I buy all my practice/target rounds at Fleet Farm. At the stores in my area, they keep the handgun ammo behind a counter and you have to call a clerk over to fill out paperwork and bag it so you can carry it to checkout. It is a hassle, but they have the cheapest prices I've found.

I carry Hornady CD rounds. Fleet Farm and Walmart don't carry these bullets and I can't find them at local gun shops. I have to buy online at Target Sports USA. Their prices are good, but not the cheapest online. However, they usually have it in stock when I need it.

Fleet farm has you show them your ID and they record it on a form, put your ammo in a bag labelled "restricted merchandise" and send you on your way. They check you again at the checkout and make sure you are 21 to purchase handgun ammunition.

I'd like to see what they say when someone says they are buying .357 mag for a rifle.

It's a company form, and I have no clue what they do with it.

124gr JHP 9mm ammo costs me $5.20 per 50 rds

Primer 1.1 cents each
Powder 1.2 cents eeach
Montana Gold 124gr JHP 8.1 cents each
Brass zero cents each
10.4 cents per round
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
