issued to agents in the fall of 2009 ... manufacturer's warranty expiring at the end of 2010
I'm not gonna say Kimber's incapable of making a good gun ... I've owned a few ... most had one problem or 'nother ... I've had trouble with Colt's, too.
DIFFERENCE is, when I sent a Colt in, that a "gunsmith" clearly F'd with, I got it back with a long list of what they did, and "NO CHARGE" at the bottom.
When I sent a BRAND NEW $1,000 Kimber in (that was several years ago), I had to pay ANOTHER $150 to Kimber to get it to work right ... and fact is, it STILL didn't!
My personal experience aside, that's a 1yr "warranty" (http://www.kimberamerica.com/warranty). You send a Ruger, S&W (http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Category1_750001_750051_757818_-1_757814_757812), or Colt back, anytime you like, and unless you cut it in half with a hacksaw, they'll fix it ... for free!
