I was wrong. If your interest is just collecting things that classifies as a hobby. Just seems kinda boring/wasteful to me to have lots of nice things but not use them.

Wearing watch = using watch. :)

I also wear the watches I own; all of them.

I'm still trying desperately not to respond to the "My pinky doesn't stick up high enough to wear that much money on my wrist" comment...

I used to fly model airplanes.. when I got out of that hobby I sold a beautiful bird with a Deisel motor. That baby would fly at nearly an idle and screem when it was opened up. Sold off all my gear about 15 years ago now. I would like to get back into R/C tho. Prolly with cars or trucks this time.. But that too takes money

Guitars and music-related gear for me. I've just started to do some basic fretwork on a couple of beater acoustics.

I'm just thanking god right now I never caught the virus that made me desire to acquire things like expensive watches, though I am absolutely not judging since I can easily imagine transferring one of the feelings my other vices give me to watches. Better you than me. :D

I have to say i'm more functional "I need this cuz it can do this" type of person. If the watch could tell time in a black hole and could survive a nuclear blast, i'd be all over it. Pretty elements in crystal form and overpriced semi-functional metals don't do it for me. Substitute titanium, tungsten, carbon fiber or mothereffing Iridium and you got my attention... ;)

You watch guys are proving your stuffiness with the inability to take a freaking joke...

I admire fine watches (would love a breitling), but I still couldn't bring myself to wear one. I've got a brand-new future scar on my right wrist because of an error in trajectory (I walked into a wire I didn't see sticking out at work). The watches I do own all have battle scars.

I used to spend a #$%! load of money on video games, but ever since I started mowing lawns, shoveling snow and sleeping in a tent all summer as a cub scout camp counselour to get money, Ive started being a little more reserved with where it goes, but I guess me spending 1/4 of my life savings on a browning maxus this fall wasnt very reserved heh.

I enjoy and wear my watches. Yes there is $ involved, but I can sell my Rolexes for more than I paid for them, and that trend shows no sign of abating. Not all brands hold their value as well, but some do. I don't call them investments, but neither are they money down the terlet.
