SKS bullpup

Postby Scratch on Mon Feb 21, 2011 1:33 pm

Couldn't find any threads on these, thinking about making my SKS into a bullpup. Anybody have any input on them, or know of any others...

Heres one:

I've thought about making quite a few rifles into bullpups, but the kits generally cost a lot of money. Besides the money issue, you're bastardizing a firearm to get it to fill a role it wasn't designed for and that generally causes issues with functionality and reliability. That's about all I can share.

Edit: CBRPS seems to have a higher quality product from the video and pictures I could see.

From the videos I've seen on AK bullpups (can't imagine there's much difference), a lot of them have heating issues. Blasting off a magazine quick might mean you don't get to hold on to the handle without an oven mit. At least one model had a wire linking the trigger to the sear. Sounds like the reliability you get with a SKS might become a little iffy. Cool idea, but I'll pass.
