Just PM me.

Same here. You have my number from yesterday. Use whichever of us you can find easier if you decide to go that route.

But like I said, it's not the end of the world. Focus on getting into position efficiently. Holding NPOA is going to be tougher with the bolt gun, but it can be done. In fact, the bolt gun will magnify whether you really are at NPOA because you will have to move more to cycle the action.

Thank you both so much for your offer. I ended up picking up Dean's Marlin today since he was closer. Made some good progress today:
- Picked up Dean's Marlin 795 with tech sights so now my wife and I will be shooting identical rifles and we have a back-up rifle. Thanks!!
- I put shorter rings on the back-up bolt action Savage.
- I put blue lock-tite on my wife's Tech Sights. Found the front sight loose so it was good to find now.
- Tried to go and re-sight in the rifles but had some logistical issues so didn't make it. The seemingly 100 mph wind would not have been fun anyway.
- Wife and I got strapped up and played the "Appleseed AQT Timer for Android" app on my phone and simulated the qualification in the house. We went one at a time so the other could give reminders to each other on proper position. Put the target on the far wall and counted off our "shots" and moved the rifle off target for each "shot". We both ran out of time on at least one round. We also worked extra on magazine changes as this was slow but it still is. Did some hammAR push ups.
- Found that we can kneel OR sit on round 2. This is big for us since my sit sucked and my wife's kneel was not as good as her sit.
- Put all of our stuff nice and organized in a tool box.
- Signed up and paid for the Appleseed in Hinkley this coming weekend. We are in!!

Gotta get the rifles sighted in again. Planning on Monday night for that. Need to get some more shooting and practice in all week...

Last night I got the rifles sighted in again. Also got some practice in on a very nice night. I am amazed at how much different and more difficult it is to shoot from positions than from the bench.

Wife and I will head back out tonight for more practice.

Looks like a HIGH of 34 and chance of snow in Hinkley for Saturday. And it does not even look like it qualifies as a winterseed since it is not March.

No really, what are the best type of gloves to use?

The wool ones will keep you warmer, but they are "slippery",
I would look at the Metolius Rock Climbing Gloves...or even the GoFit Cross X-Trainer Gloves............

So the fingerless ones then. Thanks.

Wife and I got a couple hours of position shooting practice in at the range tonight. Decided that elbow pads might be a good thing. Learned that if the sling is too loose, groups get bigger. Also learned that as it gets darker, groups get bigger.

See my comments hear. Some links for stuff that would be nice. Check at the local army surplus for a parachutist weapon case. Nice to lay on

I cut the straps off mine and opened up the "pocket" so it is laid out full and flat. Rolls up to about the size of a sleeping pad.

I keep looking at this stuff and saying, "I can purchase XX rounds of ammo for that price!"

So I pulled some of my carpet scraps out of the garbage, picked up some $5 elbow pads at Wally World and ordered 4000 rounds of ammunition.

I feel much better now.

IMHO you spent your money wisely. Not that theres anything wrong with the shooting matts and such.

oh I don't know....

Kind of hard to see that little white / black disk for scoring without a scope.

Nice to be able to watch trace as well.

Both kind of impossible to do with the naked eye.
