I have a Husqvarna 284 Rifle Really hard to find ammo for that a man can afford. Someone told me that they have started making the 284 again but are calling it something else ( the metric number system ) anyone have any Ideas or facts on this matter???? I beleave the rifle is from the late 60's early 70's I got it from my dad'

.284 is 7mm when converted to metric, although I'm not sure what the new round you mentioned is.

.284 brass is readily available and worth reloading. Its the ballistic equivalent of a .280 rem and thats a good thing. Load it on the lighter side and its a 7 mauser, load it stiff and the 7 Mag is not that far away.

284 Brass is not easy to find the guy at the Gunstop said it is seasonal run brass, and he has not seen any since Xmas. You may have to end up necking up 6.5x284 brass.

284 is a kick butt round, it has seen a huge uptick since Charles Ballard set the 1000 yard national f-class record with it, nice lookin gun!

That is a beautiful rifle. Am just looking at the stock. Somebody took their time and picked a really fine piece of wood to work their artistry on.

It's a husky made 98 Mauser action. It's a superbly well made rifle.
