Bang Ping, part Deux

Postby selurcspi on Mon May 16, 2011 6:43 pm

Bang Ping, part Deux is just 5 days away, The forecast does not look too friendly, but we'll do it anyway. Who's coming to Hutch next Saturday?

For all of you who are looking for an opportunity to beat me, it's your lucky month. I'm having knee surgery tomorrow and I don't expect to be too mobile on Saturday.

What's needed
Consider this a gun fight......Bring a gun!......9mm/.38 will basically be the minimum, as you will need the power to knockdown some plates.
Holster, not needed for a Tyro, but you cannot shoot Man v Man without one. The trigger MUST be covered.
Round count, in a perfect world 100 would suffice. If you have the slightest idea you might miss, bring more....lots more. I don't miss much but I still bring 200
Hearing protection, if you want to be able to talk with your grandkids bring it, learning sign language at 50 isn't easy.
Eye Protection, good quality sunglasses, safety glasses or prescription glasses are MANDATORY, they should wrap around the side or have side panels.
Think of your shooting glasses as your American Express Card, don't leave home without them. We're shooting at Steel, bullets shatter, pieces of them bounce.
Clothes...This is Minnesota, bring snow clothes, rain gear, sunscreen, shorts....you get the picture...be a boy scout.
Hydration, bring something to drink, it may be hot (or cold) so bring water or something else. (personally I don't consume caffeine when shooting it gives me the shakes)
Food, the town is six miles from the range and there are no facilities on site, bring some lunch, you might get hungry otherwise.
Start Time, Setup will be at 8:30, Shooting will start at 9:30.
COF, Four stages, each of 4 strings with the best three times to count. The winner will be the one with the lowest total time for the 12
$10 for Non Members, $5 for Members. (Gopher Campfire Club Members)
Membership has gone up this year, Annual membership dues are: $35 for the Calendar Year. (Still a bargain)

Plan on being there. With my daughter's medical stuff we had to sell my truck, I won't leave the wife and kids home all day with no car and me an hour and a half away from home. I am 99% sure my dad is going to let me use one of his cars. Even being a few days out of knee surgery you could probably still beat me in the man V man, I'm just saying.

I plan on being there to shoot my first ever steel shoot this Saturday. I have a bunch of bullets and I am willing to learn. I hope I don't slow everyone up too much. I am going to try to get a buddy of mine to come with me.

The little woman and I will be down in Tennessee this weekend. Shooting a Caracal match on Saturday in Oak Ridge, then a GSSF match in Nashville on Sunday.

Have fun all!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Bah, what's a little rain, it's supposed to be 75 degrees! I'll leave my tin foil hat at home on account of lightning, though.
