Not on today's schedule...

Sign up for GOCRA's email list, and you will get an email with updates on the bill.

State of Minnesota
Eighty-Seventh Legislature
SENATE AGENDA
Fifty-Eighth Day
Tuesday, May 17, 2011
10:30 A.M.

Perhaps someone can translate the following for me:

FIFTH ORDER OF BUSINESS
Reports of Committees
Senator Koch, from the Committee on Rules and Administration, to which was referred
H.F. No. 1467 for comparison with companion Senate File, reports the following House File was found not identical with companion Senate File as follows:
GENERAL ORDERS

CONSENT CALENDAR

CALENDAR

H.F. No.1467
S.F. No.1357

Pursuant to Rule 45, the Committee on Rules and Administration recommends that H.F. No. 1467 be amended, and when so amended, H.F. No. 1467 will be identical to S.F. No. 1357 and further recommends that H.F. No. 1467 be given its second reading and substituted for S.F. No. 1357 and that the Senate File be indefinitely postponed.
Pursuant to Rule 45, this report was prepared and submitted by the Secretary of the Senate on behalf of the Committee on Rules and Administration.

This is how they "marry up" the 2 bills. The FILE that passes first becomes the file destined to become law. The CONTENTS of the file may (often does) vary from House to Senate version.

It is their normal procedure. Each House always starts off floor debate with it's own version of the bill. This guarantees a Conference Committee if they want one. Otherwise the Senate author can amend it back to the House version.

Good question.. I'd call your senator and Amy Koch, and tell them to get it in soon. Session ends Monday.
