What is your point?

It'll be a different Democrat.

Actually, unless Dayton resigns, it'll be the same Democrat in the governor's mansion. He was elected in 2010, and his term doesn't expire until 2014.

If he signs a stadium bill, I'll be the first in line to sign a recall petition. ;)

I heard him on the news earlier today. He said he would welcome a stadium bill in the special session.

No, they don't.
It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

Would a stadium have as high a fatality count as light rail, though?

Good point. Stadium > light rail...in the same way that death by drowning > being buried alive.

I personally spoke with a R rep from Red Wing and he said basically it was never going to pass because they didn't have the 75% to pass it.
Dayton isn't going to sign it. Period.

That is a cop out. They passed other bills they knew were going to be vetoed. At the very least this was a chance to prove that Dayton who claims to be pro-gun is actually not pro-gun. At the best, he might have signed it. Republicans = Chickens

At best, it would have gotten some VERY pro-gun rural Dems to vote FOR it, even in a veto override situation, even if it ultimately didn't overcome a veto ... Getting them in the habit of voting on their beliefs and conscience is a GOOD thing. Showing Dayton they WON'T vote in lockstep with him also teaches DAYTON something ... and can be used on other topics.
