I do understand that there is/was a lot of bad blood between Joel and many folks here.

ETA: Incidentally, the ST finally got around to covering the story, complete with the absolutely loathsome term "packing heat."

The Red Star has really outdone themselves with this. That really is the worst obituary I've ever read. Just keep ginding that politically correct ax you bunch of ********. I was not a member of Joels fan club, however, I recognize his past contributions and detest that kind of gratuitous coverage by a boot licking sheeplike media.

Wow.

Dave,

Like I said lets keep this in perspective.

Your choice of words is poor. The guy **** on a lot of people for years, and if you dont think he was unpleasant, wow is right. You cant expect everyone to feel the same way, and no one is "reveling" in this (well not openly). But lets not kid ourselves a lot of people for a lot of different reasons may feel some kind of relief that they haven't felt for years. That sense of relief isn't "wrong" it just is, and this doesn't surprise some.

justa, I think most will agree that you have a short memory. What Joel did in the early years to promote the carry community and what I would describe as his misguided antics lately are wide open for discussion. But the man has passed and his family is grieving for their loss, may I repeat that, their loss, let the past go and please understand the family loss.

RIP JR

Glock guy quote deleted

Like him or not, speaking ill of the dead while the body is still warm says more about you than it does about him.

Here's a hint: being an anonymous internet ******* pretending to speak up "on behalf of anyone who got screwed by him" still makes you an anonymous internet *******, not a hero. Showing up in person a week ago and saying something in person may have been respectable. Today, it's showing an absolute lack of class.

To Glockguy

We get it. You joined the forum to talk trash about someone who is now dead and you are entitled to your opinion. Be that as it may, you have thrown around many personal attacks. There have been complaints filed and it is against forum rules. It's not going to be tolerated.

Knock it off.

Warning issued.
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.

Joel was always nice to me, maybe others had different experenses. I just believe the time has passed for attacking someone who can no longer defend themselves.

If not for the passing of a man that was instramental to getting carry passed in this state, then for his family, let this fued end. Let his family have some time and peace to morn.

Please forgive him his wrongs (perceived or otherwise) as you would want others to forgive yours.

Sorry it took so long for me to post my message, many posted before I responded, but I still will.

GlockGuy wrote:Do you people feel saddened every time you see bad things happen to other criminals and gang bangers?

To your quote, no I do not.

But I do feel for their family in many ways, not so much for their loss, but how they must feel when a loss of their loved one is rejoiced by others. It may be a good thing for the victims of those you mention, but I would guess that even the parents of the most violent criminals suffer at the loss of a family member. Maybe not so much for their loss, but how they think they went wrong.

In the passing of JR, none of this is relevant, but the man is gone and a family is grieving, leave your petty **** in your tactical pants.

Even though we had our differences (note the redacted by court order every where he wrote about me) I am deeply sorry for his family, I am especially sad that he did not have time to change his legacy before he died. It is what it is.

I, along with many others here, have been in Joels sights for a while now. I hold no ill will towards him and I wish only the best for his family. I love life, but I know death all too well. A loss of life is a terrible thing----no matter who it is. Rest in Peace Joel. Prayers for his loved ones.

Joel was one of the good guys, for over 50 years. His behavior began to change in the past three years, and the change accelerated. Obviously, the change in behavior is related to his illness and finally, his demise.

What did we learn from that?

RIP, guy.

I am in the same camp as some here. I started learning at TC Carry and learned a lot from it and now here as well.

Rest In Peace Joel, Thank You for your guidance and hard work on the law that brought a lot of us together.

To his family, from mine, we wish them the Lord's peace at this time of sorrow.

The more I hear about this the more I think SS was more right than me.
Not sayin he totally had me on being right, but he may have had the right idea.

Doesn't matter which of our ideas was right on him though, bad way for the brain to go, and then tip over like this.
I hope I tip over before I go insane.
