Well, seeing as I organize the infamous EFFEN Gopher Bar breakfasts, I guess I can throw my name in the ring for OCB. As far as prices, it's all you can eat of what you want to eat, which makes it better than Denny's and still cheaper even with the beverage surcharge. $8 beats $11 - $12 any day of the week. Plus it eliminates that pesky "mystery guest ticket" that always seemed to show up at Denny's, and really pissed off those of us that were the last to leave.

BTW - Next Gopher breakfast is October 29th.

Oh, and the guess about it being too hot in the summer to cook a buffet in the Gopher kitchen is correct. After May, trying to cook in the kitchen and over the griddle for 50 people is worse than being in the Black Hole of Calcutta. It's all George can do to make a pot of soup and the coney sauce for the day in the morning and then get the F**K out of the kitchen and have a couple of cold Buds.

And as I said before, I don't think the beverage charge at OCB is any more than it is at Denny's , and you get unlimited refills on everything. I never got out of Denny's for under $12 with a tip, and at OCB it's about 8 with a beverage. Plus let's not forget the rude comments from one of the Denny's staff that made us leave there in the first place. At OCB we're "the Gun Club", and nobody bats an eyelash.

Even if OCB was $20.00 a person and Denny's was $5.00, I would still rather go to the place where I felt welcome over one that's cheaper.
