Smith and wesson M&P compact 9mm

I used to like XD (see screen name) then I tried Glocks. But in the end I settled on M&Ps both FS and Compact. They just feel better and I shoot better with them. Find someone who lives nearby you and see if they will let you try them out. Good Luck

The 9c is a great carry gun. I've also taken a 500 round/day class with it and I competed in a compact pistol match with it today. It does everything I ask it.

I had the chance to shoot one at a recent class I was at. We were messing around with one on a lunch break. I was extremely surprised by the accuracy. We were able to consistently hit standard steel silhouette targets standing at 75 yards. The ergonomics and comfort were excellent as well. Can't comment as to long term durability and reliability as I don't own one.

I am a Glock guy.. it was my M&P that Paul and I were shooting.. its got a good feel in the hand, extremely accurate and easy to control.

I heard it will wear faster than a Glock, but overall it is a very nice gun.

Can you tell me the difference in recoil between say a glock 26 and the M&PC both 9mm? Is one less than the other one?

I have not shot the glock 26, I have shot the 27 which is a 40 cal.

At instructor school, I was shooting my Glock 19, which is slightly larger that the M&P 9c. Then I broke out the M&P cause some other officers wanted to shoot it. I fired several rounds out of it and was suprised to find that the recoil management on the M&P was a little better than my Glock 19.

I've carried the G26, XD9sc and the M&P9c.
I preferred the M&P9c, but all were nice. All of them would blow the center out of the target
and I'm not that good. The M&P has the best finish and looks and it's U.S. made.

Recoil on all of them was minor.

I'm a certified Glock lover. But I just recently tried an M&P in 9mm. I liked it.

I prefer the XD over the M&P.....just fits and points better...

I'd probably go with Glock or Springfield XD before I went to the M&P line of semi-auto pistols.

Because of your vast experience with either? Hard to go wrong with the Smith shoot softer than the glock and have a lower bore axis than the XD.
