G26 33rd mag malfunction

Postby hydraulicman on Mon Jun 13, 2011 8:35 pm

I have a Glock 19 and a Glock 26. The glock 26 jams almost every mag with the 33 rounders . no problems with 10 or 15 rounders.

just wondering if anyone else has had problems with the G26 and 33 round mags. i think generally its a failure to extract resulting in a double feed. but with 10 or 15 round g19 mags it works great. all three of my G18 mags do this

I should say i just looked at the extractor and it looks just fine

upgrade the plastic to a 1911. no double feeds with internal extractors ;)

Is it a genuine glock mag or one of those cheap KCI mags?

You need to post the manufacturer of the magazine.

If it is a GLOCK magazine, send it to GLOCK. They will repair/replace and all it costs you is a couple bucks in postage.

If its a knock off brand magazine, you got what you paid for.

Not uncommon with the 33rd mags.
That's why outlawing those bad boys is stupid.
The crazy people will just use the reliable 15 rd mags instead.

Where is your pinky while you're having these problems? I've heard of a lot of these problems that are caused by the pinky putting pressure on the mag causing the misfeeds. Assuming this is a Glock mag and not some POS aftermarket.

all three are glock mags.

I'm guessing the mag just flops around too much in the short G26 when firing.

worn mag catch? beat up mags?

the springs feel good in the mags.

Does anyone one know what the current follower is for GLOCK 9mm magazines?

They change followers like socks, you could have an old version that was known to cause problems.

ETA: I just checked the newest magazine I have (bought with a pistol manufactured this year), and it is a #6 follower. Check yours; if it's anything below 6, I'd send it in...
