Are you over 21?

This is a bad combination any way I think about it.

Dad-gum it!! I just covered this topic on my post on Statistical Thermodynamics of Reloading, and noted that alcohol increases entropy, and the tendency of the hostess's underwear and the pieces of your gun to randomly scatter if you have been drinking while reloading. With actual shooting, your random thought processes lead to random bullet releases, and you're probably not going to wind up having as much fun as the hostess did while you're in Stillwater or Oak Park Heights!!

With all due respect, that is a recipe for disaster. You do not even have to simmer it. IMHO either drink, drive, or shoot. They should never be done in any combination of two or all three.

Now for the grand-daddy of them all: Who was your instructor? :rotf:

So you won't be coming to my atv rodeo shoot em up contest? :stirthepot:

Having to much to drink and shooting guns is bad. Most of us know this. Not to mention when it all goes bad it has the potential to make us all look bad.

But I though since he is on private property he doesn't need a PTC. If that's true the .04 does not apply. I don't see what is Illegal. Am I wrong about this?

As a permit holder, you'd be foolish to test the possible outcomes. If you're sloshed, you shouldn't have a gun on you.

I had the same thought, but don't care enough to look it up. My guess is that the answer depends on whether or not the .04 limit is tied directly, and narrowly / only, to the PTC. Even if it is, I assume a DA or judge would apply a broader standard of .04 to any legally carried firearm, meaning private property + no permit required, even if technically legal, would still get you charged and possibly / likely convicted.

So you're saying drunks don't have the right to defend themselves using firearms?

Google James Gradishar Duluth. I knew him, before he killed himself he spent over 100K defending his right to carry in his own building while intoxicated, he lost.

Make sure you have a video camera. That way it will end up on TRU TV.

That was a battle over the definition of public or private. I believe it was reversed twice and in the end they got it wrong.

Everyone is entitled to defend themselves regardless of BAC. It's illegal to carry in public over .04. And it's a really bad idea to play with guns under the influence of anything. But drinking beer and shooting guns on private land should be legal. But driving the four wheelers might not be.
