Yep, I think that your feet have to be in the air or in the box. :)

Is this holster legal for a steel shoot?

Without instant replay, it's tough to tell if a foot is still down outside the box when the fast guys are moving and drawing.

When that came out, it gave the top shooters about a 1 tenth of a second advantage over the askins avenger that lots of other shooters were using. For you, I wouldn't anticipate that much :D :D :D

I will make the assumption that you might be Benny? If so, thanks for weighing in on this and also for putting on a fine steel match. I have not shot one in 25 years. It was fun to do again.
It is indeed the classic Ernie Hill "Leatham/Enos holster that nearly everybody used in the mid to late 80's. I don't remember anyone using an Askins Avenger prior to that, more along the lines of a Milt Sparks1AT, at least when I was living in Colorado anyway. While the holster is more secure than many people think it is if the tension is correct, as a new (returning) shooter, I won't upset the apple cart and use it. I will continue to use my carry holster, but was somewhat worried that someone would call me on having a 10 degree forward tilt as breaking the 180 hemisphere.

Thanks Again,
Brent

No "one-step" exception, then?

And when the gamers take advantage of the "one-foot exception" and draw there, do you come up with a two foot exception?

Hell, then Joe would draw as his foot touched down outside the box and leap into the box, shooting down the poppers and probably executing the reload before he landed...
