This is the key. Frankly I'm the same way with guns that just got put on the shelf. I'd like all the regulars to have a crack at it before I start lowering prices.. at least 2-3 weeks in most cases. That said, there is a polite way to turn down an offer and a dickish way to go about it. A better response would have been "I tell you what, I can't give you 20 bucks off this gun today, but if I still have it after a month I'll give you 30 bucks off". Something like that. Or at least offered a backrub.

again... hits hard at my original point. i've never had an issue in bills/frontiersman/gun stop cabellas that wasn't ADDRESSED TO MY SATISFACTION. i've made offers in just about all of these places that ended up with the same result as my trip to Gander the other day (leaving empty handed) and i didn't feel nearly as pissed upon.

and just for the record - i HAVE gotten backrubs in Bills... i'm not sayin from WHO though

I do, but it's always from some spikey haired blond guy that looks like he should be in the backstreet boys.

I politely decline accept hungerly

fixed it for you...

Next time you "fix" my post, could you at least spell it correctly?

Gee. Thanks.

(the word you were looking for was "hungrily". The person you're confusing me with is "Macphisto")

I've only bought one gun at Gander mountain (the Blaine store) and it was on sale. I can't say anything about crummy employees as I've always been treated well there. But yeah, their prices ARE outrageous! $59.99 for a 20 count box of 45-70! Same price for the 50 count box of Winchester 45 Colt Cowboy Action (which I can get at Cabelas for about $38). I still like to go in a browse around though.....you never know when there might be a deal lurking in the used gun racks.

I was just in Gm Eden Prairie yesterday, they had a table setup with .223 ammo on sale. It was a 100 pack of AE223 for $50!!! lol! My friend and I were literally laughing out loud.

I have a bunch of coupons and a gift certificate for Gander Mountain that I will unfortunately have to use. Maybe they'll actually bring the price of whatever I buy down to a normal MSRP levels. Since the Cabelas F+ thread had I BTT, thought I should try this "Necrobumping" thing. 8-)
