I, however, would at least clean the crap out of the barrel before you shoot it the first time. Clean it with breakfree or gunzilla, then run Kroil penetrating oil down it. This will get all the crap out of it and seal the small crevices in the barrel, which will make it much easier to clean afterwords.

hey hey hey now. no pissing match. I did run a bore snake through it with some remoil on the end.. I have not shot it myself yet. But I might clean it one more time before i shoot.

Well it is a creeping/penetrating oil.... I don't think oil seals anything per se, but when I run a patch with Miltec-1 through the barrel after cleaning it prevents rust, and seems to make the rifle a lot easier to clean the next time around. Some folks say it'll cause problems with accuracy, etc but less than .5 MOA from my .223 is fine by me. (non-chrome barrel)

If it is (and I'm pretty sure it is) then you can't 'break it in'.

Just figure out your cold bore zero vs your hot bore zero, and pick one for sight in.

And your urban prone zero. Remember, for that one use your windage adjustments for elevation and vis versa.

I was a little disappointed when I received my MOE pistol grip, from all the pictures I've seen I thought it was a rubber type of material.. but it's actually a plastic. I'm fine with it and I'm sure I will love it, but I thought for sure it would have a rubber feel. Oh well.

ALSO! I printed out a picture a lower parts kit for assembly and after laying out all my parts.... I do not have a pistol grip star/crush washer.. can I just run to the hardware store and pay 3x too much for one?

PICTURES! So I went back to South Dakota Tuesday morning, built it all up within.. an hour.. if that. Then I had to go pour some concrete for a friend and that took up the rest of my Tuesday. Wednesday morning I got up and went out to shoot it. It was prolly 85-95 degrees outside and bugs galore, good god! I borrowed a Caldwell lead sled to help sight it in. I used just regular Federal 5.56 M-193 ball ammo to sight in the scope the best I could.

And now for the reload test's. I reloaded 5 of each, in .5 increments.
I FORGOT TO WRITE DOWN THE TYPE OF BULLET I WAS SHOOTING
They were all shot with a 55 gr, Montana Gold FMJ. from a distance of 100 yards. all seating around the same depth. no crimp. I would say the best group would be the 25.5 gr. So just tonight I loaded some more from 25.0-26.0 in .1 increments.

What do you guys think? I think I need to zero in the scope for sure, once I find a decent load. Then hopefully I can get a close measurement of how many grains to put under the bullets. As for the COAL/COL, I was as long as I could put them before they started interfering with the magazine.
