I will have to look at the hornady. Never even considered it. I do like the blue coolaid, but money would be a factor. Thanks for all your thoughts.

Menards sells blue spray paint if you are really hung up on the color. Besides all these advantages to the Hornady

1. Cheaper
2. Auto Indexing
3. 5 Stations
4. Better Powder Measure - So I have been told

You can consider the fact that the Hornady Lock-N-Load system of bushings is freak-in sweet. Some people may feel it is not needed or a gimmick but I will tell you it is awesome. I know it does not take long to spin a die in and out but it takes time and with how close together they are on a progressive it can become frustrating if you find yourself needing to take a die out for some reason. Yes these bushings cost money to buy but what does the die block cost for a Dillon, I am fairly certain they are cheaper? The only downside that I aware of is, after time the powder measure bushing on the Hornady progressive will loosen up and you have to get a shim kit from Hornady (free).

Dillon 550 for sure. I've used the RCBS progressives also, but the 550 / 650 way outclass them.
I buy gun parts / mags. & clips / reloading gear.

Do you have a link to the shim kit?

while the auto index is promoted as a great feature, I don't see as such, particular when getting started in the process, just my .o2 USD.

Both companies have a history of insanely good Customer service, NSP is a long way from the best customer service part for Dillon in my mind, and thats John boy out at the Gunstop. Its like having a factory rep living locally who will take the TIME to make sure you know exactly whats going on. Thats worth the hundred bucks.

If Rugersol will offer to show up at your house and set your machine up for you, then it might be worth it, otherwise, you might save a few bucks buying elsewhere, but without John, I'm gonna say spend the coin.

Actually, last time I went to help set-up a LNL-AP, it came with a DVD ... dude had it all set up ... dies set ... CORRECTLY! I even brought a brass rod to keep the primers nice 'n tight in the housing ... damn thing came with a rod, too! ... weren't brass though!

I mentioned a couple things, we drank beer, ate pizza ... BS'd.

Not sure what ya mean by parts ... Hornady sends 'em right to yer house ... fer free! I'd be surprised if Dillon didn't do the same!

As I said customer service from both companies is insanely good. Good to the point of " you're ******* me, you're sending it for free!?!, but I broke it. Wadda ya mean ya won't take my credit card number?!? "
