I thought it would be worse from everyone's comments on it. Both sides handled their end poorly. The cop was looking for trouble, which in my mind makes sense because of the situation he found the group of people in, but that doesn't make his lack of protocol warranted. And in my opinion, maybe the driver did need a wake-up call to be a little more abrupt with his proclamation of carrying a concealed weapon. A life-threatening wake-up call? No, but a talking to at least.

And that needs to change. He should have grabbed him by the arm and taken him back to the patrol car. As it is, he is just as guilty and also needs to go.

I dont know? Most cops are union so there are some issues about who has a right to correct a persons wrong doings. If the guy isn't his supervisor I dont know if the guy has a right or obligation to pull him aside.

Just a thought. Not that I agree with how this went down, but the issue is bigger than it seems.
