Round Two: Name that thingy!

Postby Annwn on Mon Aug 01, 2011 9:59 am

Found this in a drawer with a bunch of mags. I'm pretty sure this one is a gun thingy. The comparison ammo is 9mm.

spanner wrench - 98% sure it's for an AR stock nut, depends on the size. looks about right....

Wow! That was fast! Seeing as all the mags around it are for an AR, that makes sense.

Assuming that is a 9mm case, it could be a spanner wrench for calibrating a micrometer barrel.

Eek! You have just exceeded my gun knowledge. And yes, 9mm case.

Not really a gun knowledge thing. Inspection tools are all I do at work every day.

Oh duh, a micrometer as in the measurement tool. For some reason, I couldn't think of any component of a gun that was called a "micrometer barrel."

spanner wrenches like that were supplied with my Beretta 391 for taking down the gas piston area also.

but the AR scenario sounds more likely for you. good luck.

Seems a bit large for a micrometer spanner wrench

Unless it's a giant micrometer...

It's a spanner of some sort, but it's not an AR tool or machinists tool.
