Well I decided to get it. The main tipping point was that I had a gift card for Gander so in the end it worked out well for me. There was also a little icing and that it came with a bore snake and did have the second mag, sight mount and case. Pictures to follow hopefully tomorrow.

Considering you had a gift card I'd say it wasn't a bad deal. I picked up my SS 5.5" target MKII earlier this summer for $269 at Cabelas (used). It does have a few minor dings though. Enjoy!

If you remove that loaded chamber indicator, there's a guy over on rimfirecentral that sells a filler for the hole left in the frame/chamber area.

i have the Blued version of same gun Ruger MK III blue barrell. 2 yrs ... literally thousands of rounds down range and on the farm at critters.
Great weapon.... a bear to take down and re-assemble... but i think it's a must own

Well I had a chance to shoot the new pistol this weekend and it performed great. Very accurate shooting so I am very pleased with the purchase. I don't think I am prepared to attempt the take down process. I just skimmed the instructions in the manual and felt I may have better chances of learning german on my own ;).

Just follow each step and you'll be fine. There's also a YouTube video, but make sure you find the MKIII one.
